If you decide that Avery’s Taekwondo is the place for you to train…
We have three membership options at Avery’s Taekwondo
Option 1: Monthly.
For $85/month you get unlimited Taekwondo training. We are always open at least four, but usually five days per week. (depending on tournaments, events, etc.) This works out to be about $4/class if you attended 5 classes per week. Most people attend 3 times per week which is still a great deal.
Option 2: 6 Month Membership.
For $75/month with a 6 month contract or paid in full membership you get unlimited Taekwondo Training. This works out to be under $3.50/class if you attended 5 classes per week.
Option 3: 12 Month Membership.
For $65/month with a 12 month contract or paid in full membership you get unlimited Taekwondo Training. This works out to be $3.oo/class if you attend 5 classes per week.
Nearly all of our classes are taught by a Certified Master Instructor. It doesn’t take long to see the difference professional instruction makes in your training. Come check out our classes if you’d like to compare the results from any school in the area with our Junior Olympic athletes or even just our regular students doing Taekwondo just for fun!
Month to month plans can be terminated with 7 days notice.
Some Frequently Asked Questions:
When is the best time to start?
We enroll new students year round. You may start at any time.
Are you going to pressure me to sign up at the introductory lessons?
No, most students start with two private introductory lessons that serve as an orientation to our gym and staff. These lessons are a chance for you to get to know us and learn the fundamentals. You are welcome to ask all the questions you wish after the intro lessons and take the time you need to think over everything.
Are there any cheaper options?
We are proud to be one of the few gyms around that offer monthly memberships but we do provide discounts for individuals who commit to six months or more. Most people choose to do a one month membership after their initial trial period to make sure they are going to stick with it and then choose to take advantage of one of our discounted memberships.
Why do you charge so much/little?
Actually, we asked several of our customers what they felt was a fair price and they helped us come up with our current programs and class options. Keep in mind that Avery’s Taekwondo offers students far more classes than most programs without charging additional upgrades for these classes. If you were to attend all the classes that were available just to our beginner level students in a month it comes to about $3/lesson!
What is your style? Do you teach MMA?
We get this question a lot. We teach traditional Tae Kwon Do which includes self defense techniques ranging from blocking, kicking, and punching, to sweeps, throws, and submissions. We have found this to provide the best character development benefits to our members and that’s what we really care about. Many schools of martial arts have been rebranding themselves as MMA gyms lately to jump on the bandwagon, many are legitimate, some aren’t, be sure to look into their credentials, experience, and character.
Does Taekwondo involve a lot of tournaments?
Most of our students practice for self defense, mental discipline, and for our awesome workouts. We do offer additional training for those who wish to compete in tournaments at no extra charge. We have qualified and sent our team members to the U.S. Junior Olympics and Senior National Championships multiple times and our black belt coaches are certified by USA Taekwondo. The official governing body for Taekwondo in the United States. To compete or not is up to you.
What gear do I need to start?
For your introductory lessons, some comfortable workout clothes will work great. Classes are performed without socks and shoes. Students are required to wear a school uniform to group classes. Training gloves are also used in nearly every class but are not necessary to get started. We stock several sizes of all equipment so you can try them on to get the correct fit.
